About us
The Hub Docklands is part of Active Melbourne and run by YMCA Victoria on behalf of the City of Melbourne.
We have a number of rooms available for hire, plus a coworking space. Rooms are available on a one-off / permanent / recurring basis for a fee - for example for your event, club or organisation. The Hub at Docklands is a great spot for your next meeting, training session or birthday party.*
*Children under the age of 12 must be actively supervised by a person 17 years old or older.
Programs
A variety of fun, active and sociable programs are run at The Hub Docklands and other Active Melbourne venues.
Facilities
The Hub Docklands includes:- seven bookable rooms, plus a coworking space;
- free WiFi;
- tables and chairs available for all rooms;
- kitchenette access;
- and all-abilities accessible bathrooms.
Portable projectors, projector screen and whiteboards are all able to be moved from one room to the other so you may set up to your liking (available upon request).

Atrium (main hall)
The atrium is our largest space - a beautiful light-filled area available to hire for functions such as large meetings, movement classes and rehearsals.
This space has five tables and 38 chairs and caters up to 80 people standing maximum. -
Cinema room
This is ideal for presentations, movie screenings, meetings or classes. The room contains an inbuilt data projector and screen.
This space caters 30 standing maximum and has four tables and 25 chairs. -
Glasshouse
The glasshouse is a beautiful bright room with timber flooring and enclosed outdoor decking area available to hire for functions such as kids birthday parties, small meetings, small movement classes.
This space caters to 40 standing maximum. Tables and chairs are subject to availability and upon request. -
Long room
This room is ideal for smaller meetings and contains tables, chairs and a small whiteboard.
This space has two tables and 10 chairs. -
Parkview room
The Parkview room is located on the first floor of The Hub Docklands, overlooking the Atrium, which is the main hall of the building. The Parkview room is full of natural light and is ideal for small meetings.
This space caters for up to seven people (boardroom style). -
Consultation room
Our consutation room is suitable for one-on-one meetings or consultations.
This space caters for up to three people (seated). -
Community space
The Community Space is a large room with floor to ceiling windows.
This space has six tables and 26 chairs and caters up to 60 standing maximum (not wheelchair accessible).

Kitchen, toilets and additional facilities
Kitchen
The kitchen is a communal area for all user groups and is included in the cost of room hire. It is available to be used and shared between groups. Kitchen facilities include: microwave, hot water dispenser, chilled water, fridge, pie warmer, dishwasher and sink. Tea and coffee can be provided during business hours.
Toilets
There are gender neutral all-abilities accessible bathrooms, with a nappy changing station.
Facilities
Furniture, portable projectors, projector screen and whiteboards are all able to be moved from one room to the other so you may set up to your liking. Tables can each accomodate 6-8 people.
WiFi
The WiFi network is free for the public to use. The network is called ‘Free Wi-Fi – Hub’ and requires a password which we can provide to you.
